Kati Nalbandian of Creative Collective MA
Tell us about what you do for business.
Connecting creative entrepreneurs is my dream job. I help promote the success of our Creative Collective Members (North Shore based small businesses, individual makers and artists, and cultural institutions etc.) to help strengthen the Creative Economy in our region. How? My role is in Marketing- creating and sharing content across social media and digital platforms to spread the word about the wonderful work our members are doing. Getting to know each business a little better and making lasting connections between them with opportunities for projects and collaborations is the cherry on top!
Everyone’s got a story. Tell us about you (What’s your background? How did you get here? Where are you hopefully heading?).
I’ve been interested in everything deemed “creative” since I was very young. Without much of a long-term focus on one particular category, I found myself looking for ways to use all of my skills including my need for social purpose in my community. There’s a lot more story behind how I got here, and where I dream of going. I’d love to connect at a future event!
What motivates you (causes; any advocacy/activism/initiatives you’re working on, long-term goals, etc.)?
Simply connecting, preferably face-to-face, with other people motivates me. When I can hear and converse with others about their goals and my own, I’m more motivated to do the work to make it happen. I’m passionate about the importance of Arts and Culture but also causes in LGBT rights, Reproductive Justice and other Human Rights.
Why are you joining The Next Gen Network?
I’m happy to be a part of The Next Gen Network after many event collaborations with Creative Collective. Looking forward to connecting with new people and giving back to the community together.
